Nursery Updates: Throughout July:

Throughout June:

FeesAs we have so many new parents at the nursery, this is just a polite reminder that fees are due on 1st of each month. We are aware that tax free childcare payments can take a couple of days to get to us, we ask that you try and transfer these before the 1st to ensure they are in our bank on time but will give leeway by a couple of days due to this for these payments. Any payments not received by the 7th of each month will receive a reminder and may then incur a late payment charge.

The children embraced the outdoors with The Wildlife Trusts' 30 Days Wild challenge! This was a month dedicated to exploring the wonders of nature, from the majestic red kites soaring above to the humble bees buzzing in our gardens. We even got to see an owl!We had such lovely fathers day stay and plays in all the rooms. Thank you so much for joining us.We have enjoyed celebrating the Euro's and practising our own football skills With the warmer weather approaching at the end of the month, we increased our water play throughout the rooms and had ice lollies to stay cool  We welcome Chelsea back from her maternity leave! We are going to start planting our fruit and vegetables in the front garden. We would love to see any fruit or vegetables you have grown at home! Please can you make sure you have provided a hat for your child to use at nursery. Although we have sun shades and gazebos to help use keep them in the shade,  there are still times of the day where the UV is lower and your child may be in the sun. They need hats on to be able to take part in the outside activity. To celebrate and encourage a lifelong love of reading at home and nursery, we are running a sponsored listen between 8th July-19th July 2024. - The project is being organised in conjunction with our local Usborne Partner, Jessica Campbell. The money raised will go towards brand new books for our nursery plus half of the money that is raised by your child will go towards books for them to take home. Keep your eyes peeled for more information coming out soon on famly! Bluebells

The children have had a fantastic June! They have been exploring lots of different activities and learning lots about healthy eating during our healthy eating week.

Throughout the month of June we have been working on our new Forest School area where the children have been helping to decorate it and clear the weeds out the way, making their own tools out of sticks and using the tools to clear the area! The dads had a great time eating their sandwiches in the woods at our stay and play and could see the progress we have all made!

During healthy eating week the children had so much fun making different things. Their favourites were making Mr Potato Heads, mini healthy pancakes, fruit smoothies and apple structures. During these activities we spoke about what foods were healthy and why they were good for our bodies.

Some of the other activities the children have really enjoyed this month have been wrapping their feet up in bubble wrap and doing some feet paintings, making their own treasure maps and going on a treasure hunt in the garden and making their own car wash and cleaning the dirty cars.

Overall the children have had a great June full of exciting activities! We are looking forward to lots more summer activities now the weather is getting nicer - please can you ensure you provide your child with a named sun hat, along with a spare pair of trousers in their bag for when we go on walks. Named water bottles are welcome to come into nursery too, these will need to return home each evening.

Lilies

During June we have had such lovely adventures and have had so many fun walks around the farm. Discovering new exciting areas as we went on a colour hunt to find different things to match the colour on the sheet. We explored creating our own faces too on the walks using natural resources on paper plates!

It was world environment day and Lilies went around the different buildings to collect the rubbish in the surrounding areas to help our environment. We explored more celebrations during June, Father’s day being one, as we welcomed our Daddy’s for a father’s day tea. Lilies had lots of activities during healthy eating week too, creating our own fruit kebabs and an adult created a fruit tree using different fruits too.

We kicked off the Euro’s to a great start, also we wore our favourite football shirts and played a big game of football in the garden! Lilies created our own crowns for the king’s birthday and had our own little tea party too. We also had many more activities and celebrations we engaged in.

Throughout July, we looked forward to the different celebrations which are: the Euros continuing during July. Which means we will continue doing some football related activities. Also Wimbledon will start so Lilies can practice their hand eye coordination through hitting balls with tennis rackets! There is also Independence day and Bastille day so we will be celebrating those through American and French activities. As well as shark awareness day and global tiger day too!

And probably Lilies favourites will be world chocolate day and national ice cream day, where we will create our own chocolate bars and ice cream too. So many more celebrations which we look forward to sharing with you.

Daisies

This month the Daisies have enjoyed taking part in the 30days wild challenges and learning about the wildlife around us. We have been bird watching, going on nature hunt walks and making little water ponds for the wildlife in the garden.

We really enjoyed our stay and play session with the dads that were able to attend. Thank you all for coming in and getting messy with us.

The children have explored some new tuff trays for example: A strawberry picking experience, consisting of pretend strawberry's with a basket to pick them out of the gloop and collect in their basket. We were then able to extend this after by receiving your beautiful pictures of the children picking strawberry's in a filed/farm. They loved seeing the photos of themselves and showing their friends them picking strawberry's.

We have been exploring the sounds of emergency vehicles and matching them to the correct vehicles by image or object. The children are very good at this!! Try it at home too!!

With the warmer weather approaching, we have been increasing our water play and also creating more seaside themed tuff trays as a lot of you have been away. We would love to see any pictures of your beautiful holidays for tuff tray inspiration and to use the images to share with peers.

We look forward to seeing what experiences the children enjoy throughout July and any holiday photo's you send in.

Tulips

What a great month we had in tulips. We had some really lovely sunny days. During this we were able to spend lots of time in our garden.

Throughout the month we provided some water play activities to keep cool and learnt how to splash and make bubbles. We also enjoyed exploring lots of different textures such as foam, playdough and gloop. For this we used different tools and resources to create marks in the textures. We have been working on our emptying and transporting skills, moving textures from one pot to another.

We all love singing and we are getting really good at imitating actions, moving our bodies to thew tunes.

We have shown an interest in animals too recently! We have been talking about the different animals around us and have learnt some of their sounds.

We have been celebrating world ocean day, healthy eating week and had some fun tuff trays provided for this.

We really enjoyed our fathers day stay an play, it was lovely spending time with the dads and showing them what we get up to.

We look forward to joining in with the fun of next months celebrations ....

As we slowly approach the colder weather, we ask that you start to plan ahead for your child's day at nursery. We will start to need wellies for our walks (if they are not already at nursery) and a thicker coat.
